Rookwood is located not far from the London-Dover
Road, near the village of Coombe in the county of
Hampshire. The origins of the building can be traced back
to 1117 when it was a baron's castle, hidden by a belt of
treees which contained a rambling rookery. The college
consists of two houses, the Classical Side contained in
the original building and the far newer Modern Side,
built around 1900.
